Doug Burrell: Host of Veterans Air

Doug is a 10+ year veteran of the US Army. He joined right out of High School in South Toms River, NJ. Doug left the service as a Staff Sergeant (E-6) hold dual specialties as a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Specialist and as a Combat Engineer Draftsman. Doug served one tour in Germany and 2 tours in South Korea as well as tours at the Pentagon and Ft. Drum, NY. While stationed at Ft. Drum Doug served as the Operations Sergeant and NBC NCO for C Company 3/14th Infantry (LI) seeing deployments in Operation Just Cause and Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

Leaving the service Doug worked for several years as an X-ray Fluorescence Specialist using radioactive isotopes to evaluate heavy metals in-situ. Later, Doug founded TRU Consulting, LTD a technology consulting firm specialize in x-ray fluorescence spectrum analysis and certification, environmental surveys, and remediation. TRU Consulting LTD was instrumental in writing the Chapter 7 HUD Guidelines for Lead-based Paint in Government and Indian Housing.

In the late 1990’s Doug moved his family and company to The Woodlands, TX where he accepted a position as Vice President, Environmental Division, First National Net, Inc. as well as performing his duties as CEO of TRU Consulting, LTD. In 2005 Doug’s injuries from military service became more pronounced preventing him from working full time so he sold TRU Consulting, LTD and is semi-retired currently serving as the Chief Technical Officer for EMW Productions, LLC.
