August 24th, 2015 – The Weekly Business Hour – Richard Martin

On today’s show we address the challenge facing our business due to plunging oil prices, the Chinese economy and the US stock market. What will this mean to business in Montgomery County? Rick provides insight in his Critical Opinion piece. Richard Martin joins us to share his expertise on how to meet the upcoming changes for businesses that accept credit cards as a form of payment. Merchants in some cases, as of October 1st , are going to have to assume some new liability if they don’t update their credit card equipment. Rick offers his Silver Fox Advisors weekly tip on how to raise the bar on your business’s customer service and how you can increase the average customer’s purchases by 6 times if you do it right!

About the guest

Richard Martin

I started by first business at the age of 24 in the printing business. After 5 years, I sold that company and went on to create several other companies that I started, built, and sold. I retired in 2003 but became bored and went to work as an independent agent marketing merchant accounts to local businesses in the Conroe, The Woodlands and the Greater Houston area. Most all my sales now come from referrals and networking organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and independent networking clubs.
